Westbrook Hay Walks & Route Maps

This is a lovely short family-friendly adventure in the pretty countryside you'll find in the Box Moor estate around Westbrook Hay.

You can expect some lovely views as you roam the open sections of the walk, and then you'll enjoy some pretty woodland walking as you stroll through the Hay and Ramacre Woods.

The paths are well maintained, but the woods can still get a bit muddy after wet weather, so please wear appropriate footwear for the conditions.

Finally, there can sometimes be a lot of livestock in the fields of this walk, or they can close some fields completely, so we have marked alternative route options along the bridleway if this is the case. (the red-dotted routes)

If you have much more time and energy for your adventure, this second route basically joins together the Westbrook Hay walk with the Streethanger Common walk to create one big epic adventure around the wonderful countryside of the Box Moor Estate.

It will enjoy an extended walk around Westbrook Hay that enjoys everything from the first route, but also adds some extra hills. Then, it also takes you on a short detour to join another loop of pretty walking around the hills and woodlands of Streethanger Common.

The red-dotted paths offer some alternative routes if there is a lot of livestock in the Westbrook Hay fields. There is also an additional red-dotted optional path on the Streethanger section of the walk that avoids a slightly more hilly section that might get slippery in wet weather.

If you do not want to drive to this walk, you can join the route with a relatively short stroll from the Hemel Hempstead train station as marked on the map.
