The walk
Flaunden Walk
This is a lovely circular pub walk around the countryside to the east of the village of Flaunden.
The first half of the walk is primarily through open countryside and along the Chiltern Way footpath, until you reach the village of Belsize with it's lovely pub for a half way pitstop.
Then, the second half of the walk takes you through the pretty woodlands of Woodman's Wood and then descends down through the Lower Plantation woodland and back into the village.

There is a fair amount of the walk on lanes, farm tracks or fields woth livestock so I had to keep putting our dog back on the lead which we both found a little annoying. Flaunden is a lovely village with a nice looking pub (didn’t visit) and a church designed by Gilbert Scott (St Pancreas station)....

One section on the road was very narrow with no passing room to allow walkers to be safe.

Flaunden...As it says on the App, this is a walk of two halves. First half was relaxing, countryside walking. (Lots of horses so be aware if you have dogs). Second half was mainly through pleasant woods. Be warned, quite a few stiles, if that would cause a problem. The local Church has tea and cakes on a Sunday afternoon, that is just past The Green Dragon. I can definitely recommend The Green Dragon. Incredibly friendly staff, great Cask Beers and the pizzas coming out of the large pizzeria oven looked amazing.

Lovely walk. Given how wet its been, it wasn’t particularly muddy. Quite a few stiles which was a bit tricky with two dogs and on my own but not insurrmountable. A few road sections and only one car wide again a bit tricky with a collie who likes to round up slow moving cars!

It was a lovely walk but I would advise to check the pub opening times as they were both closed at the time we visited in the Monday.

Another enjoyable route in lovely peaceful countryside. Quite a few roads on route but most were fairly quiet. Lots of horse fields to cross.
