This first route option is a short and simple circular stroll from the little village of Sarratt.
There's a bit of open countryside and a short stroll through some woodland, but the highlight of this one is the wonderful and charming country pub in the village.

Walk information
This second route is a longer and more strenuous adventure from the village of Sarratt.
You'll enjoy the simple stroll from the first route, but this option also has an additional loop that descends down the steep hill into the Chess Valley.
You'll experience fabulous views on the way down the hill and then you'll stroll through the nature-filled valley and explore the twisted Mount Wood before working your way back up to the village and it's cosy country pub.

I say stiles but more gates. Not suitable for buggies or wheelchairs unless properly adapted due to the hills at the start/finish.
Lovely walk...challenge to take it anticlockwise but well worth it!
Walked this a few tomes with our dog. Lots to look at and a very steep hill at the beginning/end. Lovely walk though.
Thoroughly enjoyed this walk, as did doggo - mostly off lead, bit there were a couple of roads and cow fields. We did it on August bank holiday Sunday and it wasnt too busy. We had Sunday lunch at the Cock Inn which was amazing and good value for money. ...Its our first time using the app and it worked a treat! We took a small detour to find the Mill House and got some unexpected blackberry picking as a reward. It was easy enough to navigate back to the route thanks to the GPS and the map!

Really enjoyed this walk with our two children. Varied enough to keep them interested: woods, a ford, ponies, cows, alpacas, a big hill etc. A new favourite.
Absolutely loved this walk. Some of the views were breathtaking. Seeing the alpacas, red kited and cows was also lovely. Will definitely do it again.
Beautiful walk in our local area, that we didn’t know about!Just perfect for kids and dogs. Ponies, butterflies, woodpeckers and kites all spotted along the beautiful river chess. Take a picnic and a fishing net and stop at the Cock Inn on the way back. Perfect walk.

This third route is an extension of the second route for those of you with some more time and energy for your adventure around Sarratt.
Once you get down into the Chess Valley, instead of visiting the Mount Wood, you'll embark on a longer walk that takes you back up a hill to the village of Chenies and then back down the hill for a long walk through the beautiful Chess Valley before a steep climb back up towards Sarratt.

Fabulous walk in the countryside. Would recommend wearing trousers as a few paths had stinging nettles along them. Good parking. Will get muddy in the winter. Dog loved the river crossings. Would do the walk again. ...
Walk information
This final route option is basically an epic adventure in the Chess Valley for those of you that want a real work out while exploring this beautiful undulating area of Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire countryside.
The route itself is basically the same as the third route, but this walk takes you further to the west, exploring the West Woods and reaching the pretty village of Latimer, before starting to head back on a long walk through the glorious Chess Valley.

Nice easy walk, fairly flat crossing streams and ponds on the way. Plenty of places to stop for a picnik, and a farmer selling ice creams on the way too.
