Little Gaddesden Walks & Route Maps

This is a wonderful short adventure in the beautiful undulating countryside that you'll find around the village of Little Gaddesden in the vicinity of the Ashridge Estate.

This route takes you on a walk through the Cromer Wood before descending down into the beautiful Golden Valley for a nice stroll before climbing back up through the woods. As you walk through the valley, look out for the lovely views of Ashridge House on your left.

There are hills to tackle on this walk and it can get muddy when wet, so make sure you have the appropriate footwear for the walk.

This second route option is a slightly longer adventure that also takes you through the Cromer Wood (that can get muddy in wet weather) before descending for a walk through the lovely Golden Valley.

However, after that, it climbs up into some more pretty woodland before taking you to a lovely pub for refreshments.

After topping up your energy, the walk then takes you north of the village to visit a pretty church before heading back to the start through some fields and along Nettleden road.

This third route option was is basically an extended version of the second route for those of you with a little extra time to explore this beautiful region.

It enjoys everything from the second route, but also heads out along the end of the Ashridge Golf Course and dips it's toe in the Ashridge Common woodlands.

There is a short section that walks alongside an active gold hole, so keep an eye out to your left for flying balls and respect golfers as they play!
