Heartwood Forest walk 1
1.75 miles

This first Heartwood Forest walk is one of the official Woodland Trust routes known as the 'Magical Meander'. However, we have added an extra little loop to take you on a stroll around the ancient Langley Wood where you'll experience a spectacular bluebell carpet in the spring.

Heartwood Forest walk 2
2.5 miles

This second forest walk is another official Woodland Trust route (again, with a tiny detour into the bluebell wood for the wonderful bluebell display), and this one is called the 'Wildlife Wander'. It's slightly longer than the first route, and it's a nicely varied walk as it takes you through parts of the ancient woodland, parts of the the newly planted forest and also through some wonderful wildflower meadows.

Heartwood Forest walk 3
2.75 miles

This third route is the final official route from the Woodland Trust called the 'Heartwood Hike'. This route is basically an extension to the first 'Magical Meander' route that also takes you on a stroll through the ancient woodland of Langley Wood which is famous for it's bluebell display in the spring.

Heartwood Forest walk 4
4.25 miles

This fourth route is the one for those of you that want to stretch your legs a bit more and have the time to explore more of the wonderful Heartwood Forest. This isn't one of the official routes, but our version has the benefit of visiting three of the ancient woods on the site, as well as the newly planted sections and the picnic area that the shorter routes enjoy. It also heads out of the Forest for a quick stroll along the High Street of the village of Sandridge, where you'll find some wonderful pubs towards the end of the walk. Refreshments: The Rose & Crown, Sandridge The Green Man, Sandridge

Heartwood Forest walk 5
6.75 miles

This final route option is a long walking adventure that fully explores the Heartwood Forest site and it's surrounding countryside. It enjoys everything from all of the other walks, but also heads out further into the countryside to touch on the Nomansland Common and then stroll around the newly planted Community Orchard and Arboretum sites of the Forest. It then heads back to the start through the village of Sandridge, with it's lovely pubs. Refreshments: The Rose & Crown, Sandridge The Green Man, Sandridge Queen's Head, Sandridge.
