This is a short and sweet stroll around the Harpenden Common park. It's mainly open parkland which is great for the kids or a dog walk, and there's a little bonus bit of woodland about half way around the walk to enjoy.

There's also a nice pub on the edge of the common and an optional stroll into Harpenden High Street where you'll find some more refreshment options.

Nice route. Very close to Harpenden town centre so a good walk after having a meal in one of the close restaurants.

This second route option is basically a longer walk for those of you that want to stretch your legs a bit more and explore the full extent of Harpenden Common.

This extended walk also enjoys some more woodland walking towards the bottom of the common and there is a great pub to enjoy about half way around the walk making this a pleasant day out.

Please note: this route walks around the golf course, so please be careful and look out for flying balls!

Walker review

An enjoyable walk on a frosty December morning. Good to see detailed leaflets on the information boards, showing clearly signposted routes around the common which is great for children. Easy going and not as muddy as you would expect for this time of year (still need boots or wellies). Great for dogs although most of the walk is close to the golf course, so need to be under control. Free carpark but pay attention to the restrictions. Looks ok for all day Sunday.

We gave way to golfers but apparently they have to give way to walkers on the footpath as it’s part of the common.
