Gloucestershire Walks
These walks explore the beautiful Kymin hill above Monmouth, a spot well known for its far-reaching views across the borderlands of England and Wales.
Along the way you’ll visit the historic Naval Temple and the distinctive Round House, two Georgian landmarks that have drawn visitors for more than 200 years. The walks range from a short scenic outing to longer woodland adventures through High Meadow Woods, with plenty of viewpoints, wildlife and even a welcoming pub along the way.

The Kymin walk 01
This short walk takes you to two fascinating Georgian landmarks: the Naval Temple, a tribute to Admiral Lord Nelson, and the Round House, a charming circular banqueting house.
Over 200 years ago, Lord Nelson and Lady Hamilton visited this spot to enjoy the spectacular views stretching across both Wales and England. It's a great way to soak up some history and take in the beautiful scenery!

This walk is perfect if you're after a little bit of everything - stunning views, history, wildlife, and woodland charm. The route also takes you to the Naval Temple and the Round House, where Lord Nelson and Lady Hamilton enjoyed the breathtaking views 200 years ago.
This route includes interesting rock formations, a variety of wildlife, and peaceful woodland trails through High Meadow Woods. There are a few hills along the way to get your heart pumping, but they're worth it for the great viewpoints.
Please note that there are a few short sections beside the A4236 (Staunton Rd) so please take care here.
