Ham Wall Walks & Route Maps

A lovely short family friendly riverside walk around Ham Wall National Nature Reserve. There is an abundance of wildlife living amongst the marshes for you to try and spot from Dragonflies to Frogs and Otters.

There is a nice little picnic area if you have time and we've provided directions to a little mini marsh perfect and detours either side of the river to viewing points where you can look across the marsh at the wildlife, especially the birds.

Please note, as this is a nature reserve dogs are not permitted.

This walk has the main elements of the previous Ham Wall walk however there are small extensions taking you across paths that go a little further into the marshes where you might be lucky enough to see more wildlife.

We have still provided the same detours to the viewing points if you wish to visit those, and the same detour through the mini marsh. Please note, as this is a nature reserve dogs are not permitted.

This third walk offers an excellent opportunity to explore more of the Somerset Wetlands National Nature Reserve.

While it's longer than Ham Wall Walk 1, it remains an easy there-and-back route that extends to Noah's Lake and Decoy Lake.

Along the way, you'll enjoy the stunning wetlands and encounter diverse wildlife, including various bird species, making it a perfect spot for nature enthusiasts and birdwatchers.

The tranquil atmosphere and beautiful scenery create an ideal setting for a leisurely stroll, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in nature before returning to your starting point.
