Beginning in the pretty village of Draycott on the edge of the Mendip Hills, this walk climbs up through the Draycott Sleights nature reserve for far-reaching countryside views.
Though the ascents are a little challenging, the sweeping vistas across the Somerset Levels - and a welcoming pub nearby - make it well worth the effort.

The walk
Draycott Walk
This scenic walk starts in the small village of Draycott, the neighbouring village to Cheddar on the edges of the Mendip Hills AONB.
The walk takes you up the hills on the Draycott Sleights, a nature reserve of special scientific interest.
The ascents can be challenging but you will be rewarded with some stunning views over the Somerset Levels leading out to Dorset, Exmoor and South Wales.
There is some road walking on quiet lanes and there is also a pub 'The Special Stawberry' just down the road from the parking spot if you want to stop for refreshments.
