Dane End Walks & Route Maps

This is a short but lovely walk in the undulating countryside around the small village of Dane End. You'll first climb up the big hill out of the village towards the golf course and then you'll loop back down though more lovely open countryside towards Dane End.

You'll then climb again back up into the countryside to the north of the village to visit the All Saints church before descending back down the hill towards your post-walk reward at the pub marked on the map.

Please Note: There is a section on this walk just after Tuseley Wood, where the landowner has a wire fence crossing the public footpath. We've been to check this and there is a pink plastic handle where you can unhook the wire to pass. There can sometimes be a couple of horses in this field, and they were polite to us, so please be respectful and hook the fence back after you have passed.

The Boot, Dane End

This second option is another short walk that instead heads into the countryside to the north of the village of Dane End. It visits the small village of Green End before taking on a stroll along the Chain Walk. It also then visits the All Saints church before descending back to Dane End.

This third route option again heads into the countryside to the north of Dane End, but this walk goes a bit further out for those of you that want to stretch your legs a bit more. The walk doesn't visit the village of Green End, but instead descends through Graves Wood to take you on a walk along The Old Bourne track and a long the valley.

This fourth walk option is the choice for you if you really want to stretch your legs, as it extends even further to the countryside to the north of Dane End and takes you along most of the Chain Walk loop with it's lovely views.

You'll enjoy lots of undulating countryside on this walk, so you'll definitely work up an appetite for your reward at the pub in the village after your walk.

The final route option is basically the choice for you if you want a truly epic adventure and explore this whole area of lovely undulating countryside around Dane End. In essence, it's the fourth walk and the first walk added together to give you one big long walk to enjoy.
