Walk information
This first route is a simple short stroll around the pretty village of Benington.
This walk is quite simple in terms of variety as it mainly takes you through the village and around the fields in the village, but it's a good one if you just want a quick leg stretch or dog walk.

Lovely short route amongst woods and fields - BUT very very muddy and difficult walking on about 2/3 of the route, a few days after rain in Feb. Would avoud in winter, hope to try again in summer. Also, the pub has closed.

This second route is a much longer walk that really starts to explore the sweeping and undulating countryside that you'll find to the east of the village.
After walking through the village and its pretty fields, you'll venture out into the more open countryside climbing up and down a number of hills enjoying the wonderful views at times.

Lovely varied walk. Start a little confusing as there are so many paths but headed in the right direction and soon it became clear. Couldbe very very muddy at times.
Theres one part we found a little tricky, when we got to the gates of Benington lordship, im wondering if the route has slightly changed as we struggled to stay on route.. also The Bell pub has closed down now. Great walk overall, quite muddy still early march.
Lovely introduction to the app. Hardly saw anyone and was out in pure countryside very quickly. Skimmed along woods so great in bluebell season
Definitely need good footwear when it has been raining - muddy most of the walk.

If you have more time and energy, then this third route option is basically an extension to the second route that takes you much further out into the gorgeous countryside to the northeast of Benington.
It enjoys everything from the second route, but the extra distance also makes your way up to the pretty Lords Wood and St Johns wood near Wood end.

We know some of you like epic long adventures, so this final route option extends the third route again and takes you all the way up to the village of Ardeley.
When you get to Ardeley, you'll find a great village pub with a wonderful beer garden and also the 'Church Farm Ardeley' where you can enjoy the farm shop or visit the farm animals for a fee.
