Sapperton Circular Walk and Map

This short but hilly walk starts in the Cotswold village of Sapperton and takes you down into a pretty valley. You'll follow a stream through lovely woodland - especially magical in spring when the wild garlic is in full bloom.

The path then climbs back up into the village, where a cosy pub awaits. A perfect little walk with just enough of a workout and plenty of charm along the way.

This walk starts near St Kenelms Church in the pretty Cotswold village of Sapperton and takes you into open countryside and along the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust reserves of Siccaridge Wood and Daneway Banks. This walk also benefits from two pubs if you fancy a bite to eat or drink.

The route also follows the Thames and Seven Canal from the Daneway Portal, the entrance to the Sapperton Canal Tunnel.

The permissive path through the Bathurst Estate is open from 9am to 5pm daily. There is a small amount of road walking on quiet lanes.

An extended version of Walk 2, this hilly route adds a beautiful valley and even more lovely woodland to the mix. Starting in Sapperton, it follows the same wild garlic-filled valley before continuing through the stunning reserves of Siccaridge Wood and Daneway Banks.

You'll also follow the disused Thames & Severn Canal and through part of the Bathurst Estate (open 9am–5pm). With quiet lanes, varied scenery, and two great pubs on route, it's a longer walk with plenty of rewards.
