The walk
Three Groves Wood Walk
This lovely walk starts in the village and quickly takes you down into the heart of the Cotswold countryside. You'll soon come to a pretty stream with stepping stones and from there, you head into the magical Three Groves Wood, where in spring, the woodland floor is carpeted with wild garlic and bluebells.
As you wander through the tall trees, you can enjoy views across the wodded valley below. When you reach the quiet road, the route loops back up into the woods, offering more wonderful woodland paths and great views.
You'll cross another pretty stream before climbing back up into France Lynch, where a well-earned drink or snack awaits at the village pub, complete with lovely garden views to round off the walk.

A lovely walk but not a sunday stroll!! Very very hilly if you have asthma take your inhaler!

Lovely walk but very hilly so don’t do it if you have knees/hips/back problems! The bluebells had finished but the wild garlic was mostly all out and smelt lovely. We did a few diversions but not far off route. There were sheep, donkeys and ponies in a couple of form fields. The Kings Head is now closed so you have to get back in your car and go elsewhere for refreshments - someone recommended a pub in Chalford but we went to The Lamb in Eastcombe which was OK.

12/4/26 - lovely walk through woodland and across fields. If doing the walk anticlockwise as recommended, it tells to take a right turn approx 3/4 of the way round. This is no longer a public footpath, but if you stay on the lane you will rejoin the route approx 200yds further on. One style not very dog friendly for older dogs!
