Brimpsfield Walks & Route Map

Took a 4 and 7 year old who managed fine. Recommend to go clockwise. Lovely woodland walks but narrow paths. Not overly dog friendly with lots of ducks, partridge etc. But can easily be kept on a lead.

Lovely walk before a Sunday lunch

There are pheasants in the woods so best to keep dogs on leads if likely to chase.

Rather muddy due to time of year and recent rain but a very enjoyable route, a few stiles but beautiful in the woodland valley. lots of pheasants around too!

The walk did venture off the route on the app. It was very slippery in places and not ideal when carrying a baby. We didnt find it that enjoyable

Enjoyable walk, especially by the stream. We detoured for a look at the church, nice archway of yews. A few trees had fallen over the path so negotiating these as a bit tricky. Very muddy in places but we rinsed our wellies in the stream. Steep uphill towards the end. Nowhere to park at Village Hall so parked on a lane not too far from church. Nice peaceful walk.

Map difficult to figure out which was the correct route in a couple of places. Pathways quite overgrown in places, but overall a very enjoyable walk.

Varied terrain. Short steep hills in places. Some difficult stiles. Pheasants everywhere and a wonderful duck pond. Would be very wet if not flooded in a wet winter I expect.

Never seen so many dums and turkeys in one place. Great walk, a bit of road, forest path and totally over grown meadows but path is marked and easy to find. Getting on the other side of the ponds was harder to spot but bridge is clear once spotted. Navigation by the app is spot on.

Very over grown in the woods, few fallen trees. Slippery and muddy after rain. But map was fairly easy to follow and some lovely views.

The walk was lovely, agree with the comments about the first 2 stiles not being dog friendly. Also if you go in september be aware there were a lot of young pheasants around for a lot of the walk. Hence if your dog has an urge to chase as they flee they’ll need to be on the lead a lot

Really enjoy able

I really like this walk, and did it last year. The route has changed this time due to forestry work taking place and the very last stile you come to before walking back into the village is not dog friendly. We had difficulty lifting our 45kg dog over as there is no other way to do it. Overall it is very muddy and wet currently so wear sensible boots or wellies. Very slippy underfoot in parts so if you have mobility issues i wouldn’t even try this walk.

We thoroughly enjoyed it on a sunny day in April with our two small dogs. The last stile may be difficult with a bigger dog. Ideal if your dog likes a swim in a river

Lovely walk although fields have plenty of pheasant and ducks, so be warned if you have a dog even though its on a lead. Paths were overgrown in places and are slippy when wet. All but 1 stile is suitable dogs to go through. Very atmospheric walk.

Fab walk in the summer. Will be very boggy after any rain. Some parts on (very quiet) roads and a couple of sections where livesrock (birds) require leads but otherwise lovely off-lead dog walk with a good variety of terrain inclusing woods and some water.

Fabulous hopefully not as muddy with drier weather. Still great though....

Lovely walk, just shame about a stile midway that has a very small gap for dogs to squeeze through. The stile at the end isnt dog friendly at all, so had to detour off and find another way out.

Lots of views of red kites and buzzards which we loved however there were a lot of left over carcasses from pheasants that were half eaten that might upset some people

Lovely walk - albeit was overgrown with fallen trees, but we managed it with a baby in a carrier so still accessible.

Wish I’d read previous comments before starting as we missed the path down on left before the house

A lovely level walk and extremely quiet apart from a few planes overhead. ...Dogs have to be on lead for most of the walk but if you are sensible, and your dog has a good recall, then there are some sections where you can let them off provided you check for livestock. There were a few styles at the beginning so had to lift our golden retriever over but mostly it was gated access. We couldn’t find anywhere for refreshments in the village so bring food or plan to stop on your way home.

Probably best anticlockwise so the second half of the walk is the nicest

I got lost at one bit - take the left before the house at the end of the lane. The farmer blocked a stile for dogs so you will have to lift or they will need to jump!

Last section has a long incline and the start has steps. Sheep along route, cows in one section but left us alone and horses at the end. Enjoyable walk but not much shade on a hot sunny day like today.

Beautiful walk with lovely scenery and nature. Sheep in bottom field on the park were interested in me shall i say! ..probably fine if you dont look at them.

Absolutely beautiful walk, mostly following a wide woodland glade between ancient woodland areas. Some steep bits, a couple of short on road bits, and a couple of slightly hidden footpath signs and gates that are easily missed if not checking the map regularly but still a gorgeous walk!

Great in late April. Loads of birdlife and bluebells. Very clear route that is well maintained.

Fantastic walk! Perfect for the dogs, although plenty of wildlife around so not ideal for dogs with a high prey drive. A little muddy at times, especially after heavy rainfall. Took 1 1/2 hours to do the longest walk, with minimal stops, providing of course you stick to the route. So worked out quicker than suggested. Steep hill on the final stretch, otherwise an easy relatively clear and very peaceful walk for all seasons and ability levels.

A perfect walk!

Lovely route. Really enjoyed this despite doing it the “wrong” way.
