Dyrham Park Walks & Route Maps

This short and easy walk takes you on a lovely adventure around Dyrham Park, a historic 270-acre estate filled with magnificent trees, landscaped parkland, and breathtaking views. If you're lucky, you might spot the deer that roam freely across the estate.

Starting from the car park, the route leads you through the quieter south side of the park, along tree-lined avenues, and up to the Old Lodge picnic area. From there, the path circles around the north side of the estate, offering stunning views over the Severn Valley and towards the Black Mountains in Wales.

If you have time, enjoy some refreshments at the café near Dyrham House, and explore the beautiful gardens. You can also visit the historic house and stop by Dyrham Church.

This lovely circular walk begins at the stunning historic estate of Dyrham Park, a National Trust property just over the border into Gloucestershire. It's a peaceful route, with parts that feel delightfully wild, offering breathtaking views across the countryside.

Travelling anti-clockwise, the walk takes you along quiet country lanes, across field paths, and includes a short stretch of the Cotswold Way before reaching the charming village of Hinton.

If you're in the mood for a break, why not stop at The Bull at Hinton? This beautiful 17th-century pub boasts great food and a large beer garden, perfect for relaxing.

The final part of the walk is a gentle stroll through farm fields, leading you back to Dyrham Park. Here, you can admire the beautifully landscaped parkland, with its ancient ash, horse chestnut, and small-leaved lime trees. Keep an eye out for the deer that roam the grounds.

Starting from the beautiful historic Dyrham Park, this peaceful circular walk, which is slightly longer than walk 2, travels along field paths and quiet country roads with some wonderful views along the way.

The route takes you north onto the Cotswold Way and then east around the outskirts of the park to the small village of West Littleton. In the village you will find the pretty Church of St James which originates from the 13th century.

If you have time, relax with some refreshments at the café near Dyrham House and take a stroll through the beautiful gardens, which include formal borders, tranquil ponds, a wildflower orchard, and charming wooded terraces. You can also explore the historic house and pay a visit to Dyrham Church. (Check the National Trust website for current entry fees.)

There is quite a long stretch of country road on this walk which, whilst very quiet, there is no pavement. You will also have to cross the main A46 so in both cases, please take care.
