Longnor is a village in the Staffordshire Peak District, set among rolling farmland and hills close to the valleys of the River Dove and the River Manifold. It makes a friendly starting point for a country walk, with a parish church, Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, an early 19th-century pub at the top of the village, and a couple of cafes for a drink or a bite afterwards.

There are two circular walks from the village. The shorter one is a little under 4 miles and passes Beggar's Bridge, follows Green Lane to Crowdecote, where The Pack Horse Inn sits by the route, and crosses both rivers on its way back. It has a couple of moderate climbs and some quiet lanes.

The longer walk is 5 miles and adds a steep climb onto High Wheeldon, passing Aldery Cliff on the way, before dropping to Crowdecote and returning by the River Manifold. It suits walkers who are happy with a stiff ascent in return for wide views.
