This first route is a short family-friendly stroll around the lake and woodland at Gobions Wood. We've included this route as it doesn't have any steps to tackle, so it might be more suitable for some walkers.

Please note, when we visited there were some pot holes in the access track into the car park. It was accessible in our normal car, but please be careful when driving in and perhaps leave the Lamborghini at home for this one!

Lovely easy walk for novices . Playground for ...kiddies

Walker review

Much of the path is directly beside the lake and parts were too waterlogged so we had to skip. Great for dogs as they can be off lead for the whole walk, unless they like to swim as geese and fishermen in the area. We almost missed the turning for the short, single track lane which led to the carpark

This second route is basically a longer route that fully explores the lovely Gobions Wood Nature Reserve.

The walk is short but has a bit of everything with an open park with a play area, some wonderful twisted woodland to explore, a number of interesting information boards around the reserve, a rope swing in the woods for the kids to play on and a lovely pond to stroll around.

Easy short walk, hardly any climbing. I liked being in the woods most of the walk, but it was dry. Might be different when wet. Park by the parking is a great space for taking the dogs off the lead for a run-around

Love this walk, the dogs love it too. On rainy days some of the paths are like a swamp but is you have wellies, it is with it.

It was a lovely walk, did have to do a bit of a detour as as the water had flooded. Other than that, it was a really beautiful walk and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Pretty woods, lots of mud for the kids to play in. Note there are rivers, lakes and steps so need to keep a close eye on little ones.
