This short circular walk from West Lavington heads out into the surrounding countryside, climbing towards the top of Strawberry Hill for a breath of fresh air and some pleasant views over the rolling landscape.

The walk also takes in a pretty village church, adding a touch of history and character to the outing and there is a pub in the village for refrshments.

Altogether, it’s a relaxed countryside stroll with a bit of elevation to keep things interesting, ideal for a quick leg-stretch close to the village.

This longer and much more strenuous walk from West Lavington climbs steadily out of the village and onto the open chalk downs, where wide skies and sweeping views set the tone for the route.

The walk joins sections of the Wessex Ridgeway and the White Horse Trail, adding a touch of long-distance character to the outing.

Altogether, it’s a rewarding long walk with plenty of fresh air, open landscapes and classic downland scenery and a pub back in the village for a post-walk reward.

The views are worth the hill climb. Absolutely breathtaking. We’d suggest you take the anti-clockwise route which means the steepest hill is downwards.
