Kingston Deverill Walks & Route Maps

This may be a relatively short walk, but it involves a very steep climb up the downs from the village of Kingston Deverill, and there can often be quite a lot of livestock, so it's not one for the faint hearted.

When you get to the top though, you'll enjoy a wonderful walk along the top offering you some breathtaking views over Bushcombe Bottom one way, and Court Hill in the other direction, and this makes the effort all worth it.

Of course the adventure is not then over, as you then need to tackle the very steep descent back to the village.

We recommend heading through the church to start this walk and do this clockwise, as the ascent is slightly less steep then.

If you thought the first route was a strenuous option, then the second route takes it to another level, as it basically involves a lot more of the climbing up the very steep and large hills in the area, but it's also a much longer walk.

This one heads west from the village along the Mid Wilts Way and climbing Court Hill. After that it's a long undulating adventure over and around the numerous downs in the area before finally arriving back at the village.

This is a long and very strenuous walk and it's very exposed to the elements, so please ensure you have the adequate clothing and refreshments for your adventure.
