The route also passes through Lower Chicksgrove, with a well-placed pub offering a nice half way break if you wish before heading back to Tisbury.

This longer walk from Tisbury heads south into a very different landscape, with steeper hills and a stronger sense of adventure.

Woodland sections add shade and texture before the walk reaches Old Wardour Castle, one of the area’s most striking historic landmarks. Built in the 14th century, the castle brings real drama to the route.

Our longest walk from Tisbury draws together the best elements of the first two routes, creating a fuller circuit through open countryside and gently rolling ground. Views open out across farmland before the route settles into a steady, unhurried rhythm.

Later, a longer stretch through Whitmarsh Wood brings woodland shade and a sense of calm. An added loop visits Sutton Mandeville, where a pretty village church provides a quiet focal point before the return.
