Ham Hill Country Park Walks & Route Maps

A lovely short family friendly walk with a nice pub stop half way through the walk. This walk follows a similar path to the longer Montacute walk, however, parking on the hill allows you to access the stunning views with a much shorter route.

There are also ruins of an Iron Age hillfort which covers an area of 210 acres, making it one of the largest hillforts in Britain.

There is a short section of walking on the road on this route.

The second Ham Hill walk extends the first, offering more opportunities to explore the area.

After enjoying the panoramic views and visiting the Iron Age hillfort, the route takes you through woodlands and further into Ham Hill Country Park, providing plenty of chances to spot wildlife. Along the way, you can also stop at The Prince of Wales pub for refreshments.

As with the other routes there is a short section of road walking.

For those seeking adventure, the third Ham Hill walk offers a challenging mix of terrain through Ham Hill Country Park and beyond.

You'll take in stunning views, pass the Iron Age hillfort, and explore Hedgecock Hill Wood and St. Michael's Hill.

The route continues into the picturesque village of Montacute, where you can stop at a local pub before climbing Butcher's Hill. Afterward, the route loops back through Ham Hill Country Park, leading you back to the starting point.

This is a hilly area, and the walk is strenuous, so you'll need plenty of energy and should be appropriately prepared for the varied terrain.
