Cadbury Castle Walks & Route Map

This short, but picturesque and historically rich walk in Somerset, takes you to the site of Cadbury Castle, an ancient Iron Age hillfort with connections to the legendary King Arthur.

Rising steeply above the surrounding countryside, the hillfort offers panoramic views across the Somerset Levels, Glastonbury Tor, and even the Mendip Hills on a clear day.

There is a pub a short distance away in South Cadbury.

This circular walk takes you from South Cadbury to Corton Denham and back, showcasing the stunning beauty of the Somerset countryside with its picturesque farmland and rolling hills.

You'll enjoy fantastic views of the surrounding fields and woodlands as you traverse the route. You will pass the site of a medieval village and Whitcombe Farm, with its charming buildings.

The route ascends towards the Beacon, where you can take in breathtaking views stretching westward over the plains for miles.
