It's a great place for exploring with the kids as a site of scientific interest, but please be careful on this route as there are some drops around the quarry.

This second longer route option is an interesting and varied walk around the wonderful village of Kirtlington and it's surrounding countryside.
You will scramble around the scientifically intriguing disused Kirtlington Quarry (please be careful around the Quarry), you'll embark on a long stroll alongside the beautiful Oxford Canal, you'll roam through pretty open countryside, and of course you'll visit the village itself with it's lovely pub and church.

Enjoyed this walk in February. Walking boots required. A few trees down across the canal paths so had to scramble over those. Extremely muddy in one place.
