Elhampark Wood Walks & Route Maps

This short walk explores Elhampark Wood, an ancient woodland on the edge of the Kent Downs. Oak, ash, and hornbeam trees shape the canopy, while glades and shrubs add variety beneath. The woodland has been part of the local landscape for centuries, once valued as a working resource and now cherished as a haven for wildlife.

In spring, bluebells spread across the woodland floor; summer brings thick shade and butterflies in the clearings, and autumn fills the canopy with warm colour. Birds can often be heard flitting through the trees, adding to the sense of life in the wood. It’s a gentle but rewarding walk that captures the depth and variety of this historic landscape.
