Great Hormead Walks & Route Maps

This first route is a lovely short family-friendly pub walk from the wonderful Three Tuns country pub in Great Hormead.

The route takes you through the pretty village itself and then out for a short walk into a few open fields before visiting the lovely local church and then heading back to the pub.

The pub is very dog friendly. It also has a beer garden in the summer and an amazing open fire in the winter. Finally, you can enjoy some great food after your walk, so order ahead if you want lunch.

The Three Tuns, Great Hormead

If you have more time and energy for your pub walk in Great Hormead, then this second route option is a longer adventure that explores more of the wonderful and peaceful Hertfordshire countryside around this village.

You'll enjoy the village itself, as well as the pub and the pretty church from the first route. However, the extra distance also takes you out for a much deeper exploration of the countryside to the south of the village where you'll climb the mild 'Bummers Hill', you'll walk alongside the Little Hormead Brook and also briefly visit the village of Hare Street.

When your walk is complete, you'll have worked up a great appetite for your reward back at the Three Tuns pub where you have a beer garden to enjoy in the summer months, and a roaring open fine in the winter.
