This first route is a simple and relatively flat countryside ramble in the pretty farmed land to the east of Barkway.
The route is a mixture of shaded and open paths and enjoys a section of the Hertfordshire way.

If you have a bit more time, then the second route heads out to the west of Barkway instead and enjoys a slightly longer walk.
The walk is also a mixture of shaded and open paths and it also enjoys a stretch of the Hertfordshire Way.
The added bonus on this route, is the visit to the village of Reed where there is another pretty church to explore.
Of course, as these two walks are completely separate, you can make a much longer walk by combining both walks into one long adventure.

This is a really lovely walk. The fields were full of wild flowers and grases. It was interesting to go in the two churches.
Delightful walk to Reed Church from Barkway. Buttercups aplenty. Will definitely do this walk again
