Perched on the edge of the Peak District near the Derbyshire–Yorkshire border, Ringinglow is the starting point for these walks through classic moorland scenery.

Both routes wander through the woodland of Lady Canning's Plantation and out onto open ground with wide views across Burbage Moor, also passing the intriguing Ox Stones.

The shorter option makes for a relaxed family-friendly outing, while the longer of the walks stretches further north for extra open countryside and leg work.

With a welcoming pub at the start and finish, these walks are a rewarding way to enjoy fresh air, woodland shade and sweeping Peak District views.

This is a short family-friendly pub walk adventure in the lovely Peak District countryside that you'll find around Ringinglow, close to the county borders of Derbyshire and Yorkshire.

You'll walk through the pretty woodlands of the Lady Cannings Plantation and also enjoy some wonderful views across Burbage Moor as you walk.

You'll also visit some Ox Stones which are an interesting feature, and of course there is a lovely pub at the start or end of the walk for refreshments to make this a perfect day out.

This second route option basically extends the walk to explore more of the countryside that you'll find to the north of Ringinglow.

You'll also visit the woodland and Ox Stones and enjoy the views from the first walk as well of course and the lovely pub will be waiting to refresh you once your walk has finished.

Walker review

I did this walk with 2 dogs. All was good untill we came to a field that we had to pass through with cows and calves. Was quite a dangerous situation, had to let the dogs off their leads. At no point did we get berween the cows and calves but we kept getting charged at. Would definately avoid this field in the future if I had dogs with me. It was definitely the dogs that they were upset by, as a couple had walked through ahead of me without any issues.
