The walk
Ashover Walk
This is a lovely and interesting walk in the countryside to the south of Ashover.
You'll visit lots of pretty countryside, enjoy a short walk alongside the River Amber and your adventure will also take you to the viewpoint at Cocking Tor (optional detour on the route). There are some sharp cliffs here, so please be careful.
You'll also find some lovely pubs in Ashover, to make this walk a great family day out.

Some spectacular views if you climb to the top - which is no mean feat for a pair of oldies like us. I can imagine the climb being exceptionally tricky if wet. Nice choice of pubs in Ashover. I just wish the maps had more information like street names, places of interest, pubs, etc.

Excellent walk with beautiful scenery. We started in Stamp, a lovely cafe in the old Post Office of Ashover. Had a great lunch before starting. Lots of different terrains including woodland and cliff paths. We took a 7 month year old in a carrier and it was fine. Definitely not suitable for pushchairs or similar. Some quite steep climbing. Took us around 1hr 15mins with no stop. Would highly recommend.

Worth the climb up to Cocking Tor for the view. No cafe on route but plenty of pubs in Ashover as well as the post office tea room.

Stunning walk! Lots of inclines. Even on a very dry day there were patches of mud. Incredibly enjoyable walk, beautiful scenery, will definitely do it again!
