Fyfield Down Walks & Route Maps

Stunning views, lovely walk. If you’re taking dogs, however, be aware that you have to keep them on lead a quarter of the way when you pass the horse racing course at least. If there’s livestock in the fields they’ll have to be on lead a lot more than that.

A great walk if you want to escape the crowds! Hardly saw another soul - just lots of cows.

Excellent walk with lovely view over the downs. There are a lot of cattle, we changed the route a little to avoid the bull but there are plenty of paths to choose from.

Far from the madding crowd! If you love wide open countryside views and very few other people on your walk then this is the one for you. Beware of bulls and cows - although they were not bothered by us at all.

Currently bulls in nearly all the fields so very dangerous if you have a dog (which i did). Had to abort the walk in the end. Livestock everywhere.

A great walk, we went round clockwise, just one problem with the route, some one has put a fence up. There is a gate 50 meters to the left, take that and head down straight down..

This is a lovely walk , did it December, very muddy in places and i would advice a map in winter as visibiy was low in very fine rain and driving winds . Dogs loved it....

Could not complete whole route be cause rhw Aberdeen Angus xs young ones to, and were.unpredictable so we had to find another route, superb views around the downs, would give it anorher go perhaps later if the cattle are taken in fornrhe winter.

You’ll need a lead if you’re taking your dog woth you as part of the walk is through fields with grazing cattle and some rather large bulls. Incredible views when you join the ridgeway.
