This varied and rewarding walk is a bit longer and more challenging than Walk 1, but it showcases some of Exmoor's finest scenery. You'll experience stunning coastal views, serene woodlands, and tumbling waterfalls.
Starting from the picturesque harbour town of Lynmouth, follow the wooded Lyn Valley up to Watersmeet House, a National Trust site. In spring and summer, it's a perfect spot to pause for tea and cakes while enjoying the waterfalls.
The route includes a steep climb through the woods to Countisbury, followed by another ascent to the South West Coast Path. The effort is well worth it for the breathtaking views before descending back to Lynmouth, with coastal vistas all the way.
Once back, treat yourself to the town's many attractions and enjoy refreshments at local cafés, pubs like The Ship Inn, or the award-winning fish and chip shop - perfect after a day of exploring!
This walk is more challenging in places and you will need to be aware of muddy or slippery paths in wet weather, suitable footwear is recommended.
