Withypool Walks & Route Maps

This first route is a nice short and relatively flat stroll from the pretty village of Withypool.

You'll mainly enjoy some quiet lanes, some farmland and then a wander alongside the River Barle before heading back into the village passing the pub and cafe for refreshments.

If you have much more time and energy, this extended version of the first walk takes you out into more adventurous terrain.

The walk starts by heading south and then takes you on a walk around the base of Withypool Hill. There are a number of paths going up the hill itself if you want to take an optional diversion up to enjoy the great views before descending and rejoining our route.

You'll then head through some open farmland before eventually reaching the River Barle which you'll then follow north for a beautiful long riverside and woodland ramble back towards the cafe and pub in village.

This final route is a there-and-back linear walk option for those of you that want to visit the photogenic Landacre Bridge.

You'll enjoy some riverside walking alongside the River Barle and some pretty countryside walking before climbing some elements of the hills in Withypool Common and then descending back down towards the pretty stone bridge.

Once you've taken your photos, you'll retrace your steps back to the start where you can enjoy refreshments in the cafe or pub in the village.
