Porlock Walks & Route Maps

This beautiful walk around Porlock Marsh and Bossington is a scenic and varied route, offering a mix of coastal views, marshland, country lanes and charming countryside.

Starting in the village of Porlock, the route takes you towards the marsh, where you'll follow paths alongside tidal lagoons, salt marshes, and shingle ridges.

The walk offers you stunning views across the Bristol Channel and provides opportunities for birdwatching, as the marsh is home to a variety of wading birds and wildlife.

You can also take the short detour from the route to grab a coffee from the tearoom in the pretty village of Bossington.

This is the slightly longer of two walks we have from Porlock, a charming village on the edge of the Exmoor National park.

This walk encompasses West Porlock and Porlock Weir, an historic harbour offering a picturesque setting with its boats, quaint cottages, and a small selection of cafes and pubs, perfect for a pit stop.

Panoramic views over the coastline and the rolling hills of Exmoor National Park are spectacular as you follow some of the South West Coast path.

A blend of natural beauty, history, and access to stunning walking routes offers the perfect reason to explore this area.

While most of the walk takes you through picturesque landscapes, there is a small amount of road walking involved, and there is also a section along a pebble beach which could be difficult going for some walkers.
