Reculver Park Walks & Route Maps

This first coastal walk begins beside the striking Reculver Towers, a landmark that has watched over the shoreline for centuries.

From here, the route heads west into Reculver Country Park, where grassland, saltmarsh, and shingle shore create rich habitats for birds and wildflowers.

Later, Bishopstone Glen and the neighbouring Bishopstone Cliffs Nature Reserve reveal the coast’s dramatic side, with chalk valleys, shifting cliffs, and big sea views.

A pub at the start/end makes a fitting stop to round off this mix of history, wildlife, and coastal character.

This second route option is a slightly longer coastal walk that also begins at the striking Reculver Towers, the twin spires of a medieval church built on the site of a Roman fort.

This one however heads in the opposite direction along the coast from the first route, following the King Charles III England Coast Path where big sea views stretch across the North Sea and tidal flats draw birdlife through the seasons.

It then loops back past the Rushbourne sea wall, before getting back for a final stop at the King Ethelbert Inn rounding off a peaceful walk rich in history, nature, and coastal character.

Of course, as the two routes head in different directions, you can combine both routes to create a long epic adventure.
