The walk
Wickham Bishops Walk
The walk starts with a visit to the wonderful church before taking you on a lovely ramble through the countryside around Wickham Bishops.
The route is varied and takes you through some nice woodland and then along a glorious stretch of the River Blackwater.
It's a long relatively mild descent to get down to the river, so be prepared for the climb back up. At one point the walk also takes you through a pretty golf course, so look out for flying balls at this point.
Important: There is a short section of walking on a busy road, so this walk might not be suitable for some walkers.

Lovely walk even managed to get coffee and sausage roll from halfway hut at golf course they were really friendly and welcoming and invited us in. Dog friendly but not a walk for buggies or wheelchair or young children .

Enjoyable walk, but a large part of it is walking along the side of a golf course, with no footpath, which was a bit odd. Its a public footpath, but keep an eye out for playing golfers.

Was a lovely walk!! The road is busy but its only a short walk on the busy road. The canal part where the old railway bridge goes over is very thin and you wouldnt get a buggy or wheelchair down this area. We went in the evening so very few people on the golf course but a lot of geese which moved away from us and the dogs. Will defiantly be doing again as only took 1 hour 20 mins at a good pace as well as stopping to look at the old church on route.

A lovely walk taking in the golf course, woodland amd farmland. Very wet on thr golf course after rain . Lots to see!

An enjoyable countryside walk with a few beautiful stretches of bluebells. Some areas by the river would not be suitable for wheelchairs and would be challenging for pushchairs. Take care in places to follow the footpath rather than a private drive!
