Messing Walk & Route Map

Pleasent walk , Messing a nice village . The only downside is the walking along roadside but we were aware of this before we decided on the walk so thats not a complaint just a comment. We didnt go in pub, so unable comment other to say it looked nice from the outside .

Some of the paths were so overgrown and with stinging nettles, my legs have been stung to pieces. ...Its not the easiest path to follow and very little sign posts.

Lovely views and the forest was amazing but the only downside was the constant banging noise from the paint gun site in layer wood but you can hear it on the majority of the walk. My dog was not impressed and it turned out not to be a peaceful walk.

Enjoyable walk! Be aware of a couple of styles that you will need to lift your dog over (if you are with one), and when you come out of Layer Woods, you need to walk along a busy national speed limit road, without much of a verge to walk along.

Slight detour required where no footpath across field

Very overgrown in parts!

Alot of paths overgrown, road walking on quite a busy stretch. Some lovely horses but dogs could fit under the fences. Lots of nice woodland stretches.

Walked in August after recent rain. Two paths too overgrown to use and one style needing maintenance. Thick denim would have been better than lightweight walking trousers on passable overgrown paths. Road section dangerous and woods along that stretch had shooting signs up. Field ploughed on map route but easy to walk around. ...Woods and fields lovely and not as muddy as expected after a very wet previous day, but route needs re-working.

Good walk and good accuracy.

There is a small section that is not accessible for a dog but its easy to workout that you can carry on and rejoin the route further up. It's a lovely quiet walk with beautiful fields and woodland!

It is beautiful, slightly elevated, hardly saw a soul the whole way
