This walk is a peaceful riverside loop along the beautiful River Blackwater and River Chelmer, perfect when you’re in the mood for fresh air and waterside scenery.
Along the way you’ll pass Beeleigh Falls Weir and Ironworks Meadow, with footpaths skirting Maldon Golf Club - so keep an eye out for the occasional flying golf ball!

The walk
River Blackwater Walk
This is a lovely short walking loop, perfect if you are in the mood for some riverside walking, surrounded by nature.
The walk visits the Beeleigh Falls Weir, and then embarks on an adventure on footpaths alongside the River Blackwater and the River Chelmer, visiting the Ironworks Meadow on the way around.
The footpaths also take you around the outside of the Maldon Golf Course, so look out for any wayward flying balls!

A very easy stroll
Walker review
No toilets, pubs, or other facilities but path passes large superstore. Ok for dogs if kept on lead across golf course. Great to end at Beeleigh falls.

Walk along Blackwater by golf course was fine for buggy when we went, it was dry. But clear that when wet, it would be impossible because of the amount of mud.
