The walk
Bradwell on Sea Walk
This is a remote, quiet coastal walk around the Bradwell Cockle Spit nature reserve. The reserve is home to lots of nesting birds including the rare little tern.
There are also many other breeds including ducks, waders and Brent geese. On the walk you will also see the St Peter's chapel, Bradwell war memorial and the Bradwell nuclear power station.
There is a lovely pub and then after that some road walking at the end of this route.

Absolutely lovely walk with hubby and son. ...Son(4) took his balance bike and absolutely loved it. ...We walked off path along the beach when it ran closely to the parth. Be careful when doing that as at times theres mud flats between the path and beach, tou dont want to walk on them! ...The beach area is lovely. As was the pub. The walk was honestly beautiful. Really reccomed.

Very enjoyable, long walk, make sure you go to the toilet first as the first toilet stop is almost at the end. Great views over the water, looking out to Mersea, Tolleshunt

Beautiful views over the water. The last section back to the village and the pub was a bit confusing as yhr footbath was attactor tyre mark across the field. Got tgere in the end. I think these walks are going to be regular thing.

We took the public footpath rather than walk into village as it shortened the amount of road work but did mean we missed the pub
