Petworth Deer Park is a beautiful 700 acre parkland, designed and landscaped by Capability Brown in the 1700’s. It’s home to a majestic herd of 900 fallow deer who have been there for 500 years and it’s one of the only deer parks in Sussex. Here is our walk and route map for Petworth Deer Park which you can find on the Sussex Walks app.

Petworth Deer Park

If you like walking in truly beautiful and tranquil surroundings with nature all around and lovely views across the South Downs then Petworth Deer Park is well worth the visit. We only have one walk here and it’s a relatively short 2.75 mile route around the park which will take you past two ponds and through the scenic and historic parkland. This walk can be enjoyed by the whole family so if you fancy following in the footsteps of Henry VIII (who loved to visit Petworth Deer Park) and enjoy a walk with fresh air, amazing scenery and a chance to spot deer, then download the app and follow our route. There is also a pleasure garden you can visit for an extra fee.
