Sussex Walks
Tucked away in the beautiful Sussex countryside, these walks explore the rolling hills and peaceful woodland of Kingley Vale National Nature Reserve.
There are a few steep climbs along the way, but the effort is rewarded with lovely views across the surrounding landscape.
The first of the walks heads up to the hilltop within Kingley Vale, while the second is a longer, more strenuous extension that continues across Stoughton Down and follows a long downhill stretch of the Monarch’s Way to the village of Stoughton before the steep climb back to the start.

This is a lovely walk into and around the pretty hills and woodland of the Kingley Vale National Nature Reserve.
There's a fair amount of steep ascents to tackle on the walk, but its worth it for the lovely views.

If you have a lot more time and energy, this second route is basically an epic extension to the first route that is a lot more strenuous, but worth the effort.
You'll still climb up to the top of the lovely hill in Kingley Vale from the first route, but then after that, you'll head around to the Stoughton Down and then walk a glorious long downhill section of the Monarch's Way.
That takes you all the way to Stoughton where you'll find a lovely pub for refreshments before you then tackle the very steep hill on the way back to the start point.
