Sussex Walks
Set on a peaceful peninsula surrounded by tidal waters, these walks around Chidham combine gentle countryside paths with beautiful coastal scenery.
The shorter of these walks is a relaxed, family-friendly stroll past Chidmere Pond, through open fields and the village itself, with a lovely stretch beside the Bosham Channel and a welcoming pub along the way.
The longer route heads further out to explore the sweeping coastline around the peninsula, with wide views across Chichester Channel, Bosham Channel and Thorney Channel.
Both walks offer a lovely mix of waterside views, quiet countryside and village charm.

Walk information
This is a nice short family-friendly stroll in the countryside surrounding the village of Chidham.
It walks past Chidmere pond, through some open countryside, through the village where you'll visit a nice pub, and along a stretch of the Bosham Channel coastline.
It can be muddy in winter or after wet weather, so please go prepared with the appropriate footwear.

Nice morning walk beautiful scenery
It was very muddy and slippery for much of the walk even in walking boots. We did it in January but will definitely go back in the summer as it is a beautiful area with a lovely waterfowl-filled stretch of coast.

This second route is a longer walk that enjoys a big long sweeping coastal walk around the peninsular that is surrounded by the Chichester Channel, the Bosham Channel and the Thorney Channel.
It also visits the village of Chidham itself where you'll find a nice pub for a pit stop.

Go coast side first. End up in the pub ;)
Amazing totally recommend - very scenic and loved the pub. Make sure to check tide times though as you are walking along the beach for a bit. But overall, amazing walk.
One of my favourite walks. Definitely plan around low tide for the walk along the water front leading into beautiful countryside.
