Herstmonceux Castle Walk
This is a lovely short family-friendly stroll in the countryside and woodland surrounding the majestic Herstmonceux Castle.

There is limited parking on a lay-by near the castle at the start of the walk.

Nice quick jaunt through farmland

A beautiful walk very easy to follow the route on the way out. It’s quite steep hill coming down and on the way back up there’s a probably hundred meter steepness. Apart from that. It’s a beautiful walk. Bit of wood is the countryside through to farmers fields. Yep, beautiful.

We did a longer version of this walk starting in Herstmonceux. Distance was 11km. Pubs - Woolpack Inn, Herstmonceux, and Horseshoe Inn, Windmill Hill were both closed. Brewers Arms, Herstmonceux was open.
