This shorter walk explores the centre of Powdermill Wood, with its mix of old trees, quiet clearings, and historic field patterns in the High Weald.
It also stops at Farthing Pond, a calm woodland spot, and briefly joins the 1066 Country Walk, a route that commemorates the Battle of Hastings.

First-hand experiences
Great to see new routes! This was a nice walk, mixed woodland and farmland. Cows in one field. Slightly confusing route by the farmhouse where walk 2 rejoins walk 1, but after a false start and circling back we worked it out. No benches, but syopped for sarnies on a lovely wide wooden bridge. Dry today, but signs parts get muddy in the wet.
