Arlington Reservoir Circular Walk and Map

Arlington Reservoir is a lovely nature reserve in East Sussex and a haven for migrating birds and wildlife. The reservoir is a popular location for walkers and bird watchers and as you take a relaxing wander around the shoreline, wildflower meadow and woodland you can absorb yourself in the beautiful natural environment. In the winter, up to 10,000 wildfowl call this place home and if you have time, there is a bird hide to try and spot the array of different bird species. We have two Arlington Reservoir walks on the Sussex Walks app and a map for one of the walks is below.

Arlington Reservoir walk 1
3 miles

This first route is a short and easy family-friendly walk around the lovely Arlington Reservoir. There is a small section of walking through farmland to get to the reservoir.

Arlington Reservoir walk 2
3.25 miles

This second walk is similar to the first Arlington Reservoir route but a little longer if you have more time. It still includes walking around the pretty reservoir but then extends the walk by taking you on a longer loop out into some relaxing countryside and farmland.

To get the Arlington Reservoir walk on your phone, just search ‘Sussex Walks’ on your app store.

Here are a few comments from people who have walked the Arlington Reservoir walks on the app.

Arlington Reservoir walk 1

Recommended, I paid for parking £2 for the day or £1 for 2 hours. Feel its worth the money. There are 2 gates for access to the concrete path area of the site, you need a radar key to open them.

Arlington Reservoir walk 1

Bit difficult to find the start, as its a narrow path between 2 houses, but well sign posted all the way round. Dogs on lead the whole walk, metal gates to go through on occasion, but a good mix of woodland, farmland and open spaces.

Arlington Reservoir walk 2

Very pleasant!!
