Knypersley Reservoir, also called Knypersley Pool, sits in Greenway Bank Country Park near Biddulph in Staffordshire. Built in the late 1820s to feed the Caldon Canal, it is the only reservoir on the course of the River Trent, and today its wooded shores make a pleasant setting for a walk. The two routes below both start at the same point and take in the water, the surrounding woodland and the Warders Tower folly.

The shorter walk is a gentle circuit of the reservoir, with information boards about the Greenway Bank Heritage Trail and the old Knypersley Hall estate along the way. The longer walk adds some higher ground to the east, with several moderate climbs, Marshes Hill Common Local Nature Reserve and the village of Brown Edge, where there is a pub close to the route. It returns past a canal feeder channel to the country park.

Beyond the reservoir you pass the Knypersley Hall Estate board and Warders Tower, a folly dating from 1828, then the Head of Trent stream that feeds the pool, before finishing along Greenway Bank.
