Long Compton Walks & Route Maps

This is our first walk from the lovely Cotswold village of Long Compton, a village steeped in history.

There is quite a steep climb as you travel out of the village up to Redliff Hill but the views at the top are wonderful.

You will touch the edge of Whichford Wood before you follow the circular route over open countryside giving you wonderful scenery all the way back to the village.

You can enjoy refreshments at The Red Lion, a cosy inn nestled in the heart of the village, a short walk from your end point.

This walk, which provides interest through the seasons, also starts from the picturesque village of Long Compton with its distinctive stone architecture.

The walk will take you on an initial quite steep climb up and along the Macmillan Way giving you wonderful views of the village and then into Long Compton Woods.

It's then a lovely downhill stretch along Shakespeare's Way followed by a small uphill climb through the delightful Weston Park.

For refreshments, it's a short walk from your end point to The Red Lion, a cosy inn nestled in the heart of Long Compton.

Our second walk from the lovely Cotswold village of Long Compton, a village steeped in history.

This walk travels south on through open countryside and will give you a moderate climb up the side of Barton Hill.

Take your breath at the top and admire the views as you carry on your way. With just a bit more climbing to go its then downhill all the way from there.

You will finish the walk travelling along Macmillan Way and Shakespeare's Way which will give you more delightful views as you walk.

There is a some country road walking. You can take some well deserved refreshments at The Red Lion, a cosy inn nestled in the heart of the village.

This is our longest walk from Long Compton and is an extension to Walk 3 (view for further description).

This walk continues along Shakespeare's Way to the delightful village of Cherington where you can take time to admire the lovely stone buildings. If you want to stop for a drink and food you can travel into the village where you will find The Cherington Arms before continuing on your walk.

There is a some country road walking. For refreshments at the end of your journey, its a short walk to The Red Lion, a cosy inn nestled in the heart of Long Compton.
