Beginning among the trees of Smokes Wood, the routes wander through a varied landscape where seasonal colours, birdsong, and quiet paths make this a lovely place for a relaxed day outdoors.
The longer of the walks stretches further across the estate, linking woodland with open downland and sections of the North Downs Way, while also passing several carved wooden sculptures hidden throughout the landscape.
With wide views, family-friendly trails, and the option to stop at the Hook & Hatchet for refreshments, these walks offer a great mix of scenery, nature, and gentle adventure in the Kent Downs.

This lovely walk through the Hucking Estate offers a gentle mix of woodland and open ground, beginning in the quiet patch of Smokes Wood where broadleaf trees frame a changing carpet of colour through the seasons.

It begins in Smokes Wood, where broadleaf trees and seasonal colour set a calm tone, before reaching the carved Habitat Log Sculpture that shows how deadwood supports life.
The path then meets the North Downs Way, part of the 150-mile National Trail with sweeping views across Kent.
A pause at the Hook & Hatchet pub adds a touch of village character and some refreshments before the route continues past some timber sculptures, including the Axe, the Wild Boar and the Shepherd Sculpture.
