Kent Walks
These walks explore the countryside around Golden Green in the Kent Weald, where the River Medway winds through open fields and quiet riverbanks on its way through the valley.
Both routes follow sections of the River Medway and the Weald Way, with the shorter walk offering a more compact riverside loop and the longer walk extending further into surrounding farmland and meadows before returning to finish at The Bell Inn, a welcoming village pub.

Walk information
This first route is a short countryside walk from Golden Green that passes through open countryside and then follows the gentle flow of the River Medway.
The trail then joins a stretch of the Weald Way, part of a long-distance path that links Kent’s river valleys and rolling farmland.
Herons and swans can sometimes be spotted along the banks, adding a touch of wildlife to the quiet landscape.

It’s a gentle but more extended walk that shows off more of the softer and more peaceful side of the Kent countryside.
The walk again ends at The Bell Inn, a lovely local pub where you can rest and refuel after exploring this pretty corner of the Medway Valley.

A perfect walk for someone getting into hiking as it was totally flat. No stiles but plenty of gates. I didnt try the pub as i always take packed lunch. A lovely riverside amble
