One Tree Hill Walks & Route Maps

This first short walk option explores the One Tree Hill reserve on the Greensand Ridge, a peaceful stretch of National Trust countryside with sweeping views over the Weald.

Bluebells and orchids brighten the woods in spring, while birds of prey can sometimes be seen gliding over the ridge. The route continues across Wilmot Hill, where the landscape opens out again with glimpses across Kent’s rolling farmland.

It’s a lovely, scenic walk that captures the calm beauty and quiet drama of the Greensand hills.

This longer One Tree Hill route follows the Greensand Ridge like the first walk, weaving together woodland trails, sweeping views and a touch of history.

It begins across One Tree Hill and passes Wilmot Hill, where open glades and beech woods reveal far-reaching views over the Weald.

The route continues to the medieval manor of Ightham Mote, a moated National Trust house set in a peaceful valley - a striking glimpse into centuries of Kentish heritage.

Finally, the trail links with the Greensand Way, part of a long-distance path that threads through some of southern England’s most scenic countryside. A rewarding, longer walk full of contrast, character and quiet beauty.
