Baldock Walks & Route Maps

The first route option (the orange route on the map) is a short and simple stroll around the Ivel Springs Local Nature Reserve that you'll find just to the north of Baldock.

The reserve is a 37 hectare open space that has a history stretching back 5,000 years and is home to a rich diversity of wildlife.

You can optionally stroll into Baldock which is a pretty market town with a good selection of eateries for refreshments.

If you have a bit more time for your adventure, this second walk (the red dotted route) is an extended version of the first route option.

The walk still explores the Ivel Springs Nature Reserve, but it then crosses over the A1 into the village of Norton where you'll find a lovely country pub. After that, it heads off on a countryside adventure that joins the Letchworth Greenway route and takes you through the Radwell Meadows country park.

If you want a much longer and more exposed workout, then this third option from Baldock is a long adventure in the countryside to the northeast of Baldock.

It's mainly through open farmland with little shelter from the elements, so please go prepared for the weather. You'll be rewarded with peace and quite, sweeping field views and some great exercise and as with the first two routes, you can optionally stroll into Baldock for refreshments.
