The walk
Wilbury Hill Walk
This is a lovely short family-friendly pub walk from the Wilbury Hill car park. There is a little bit of woodland and a picnic site to enjoy at the start, but then the walk basically takes you on a long sweeping downhill walk that gives you great views of the wonderful Hitchin Lavender Farm.
You can then visit the Farm itself at the bottom of the hill for a fee if you wish, before the walk then loops back up the hill to the start point where there is then a little diversion to a Steakhouse pub for food and refreshments if required.

Nice short walk alongside some Lavender fields down to Hitchin Lavender farm. The farm area looked great for kids (think there is a cost to enter). We did this walk in October and the farm was selling pumpkins (never seen so many in one place) and the tea room was kitted out brilliantly in the Halloween theme. The return walk, uphill to the car park isn’t too far if you’re laden down with pumpkins. At the start of the walk, the footpath where you turn left, was too overgrown to go down. Instead, continue a few more yards to a main path and turn left there. ...

Had a lovely walk with my granddaughter on a sunny afternoon. ...Stopped at the barn cafe at the lavender farm for tea and cake in comfy seats in the shade. (No need to pay entrance if you are just using the cafe and shop.) Lavender nearly over but the scent of the harvested bundles drying in the sun was amazing.
